Blackrock’s spot bitcoin ETF application pushes the Bitcoin price above $30,000

While traditional investors are chasing the AI craze, The world’s biggest asset manager applied for a bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF), so investors can get exposure to the cryptocurrency.

Coinbase Custody will act as custodian for #BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has yet to approve any application for spot bitcoin ETFs.

All the previous Bitcoin ETF applications were rejected by SEC.

Following Blackrock’s application, two more applications were submitted by Invesco and WisdomTree

My thoughts :

  • With SEC suing the crypto exchanges Binance and Coinbase, the crypto sector is currently facing a lot of uncertainty.
  • So, it will be interesting to follow the status of these Bitcoin ETFs.
