Do you feel that you had missed out investing in the ongoing NVIDIA stock rally?

NVIDIA Corp stock has risen by a whopping 190% since Jan 2023 and entered the elite trillion-dollar market cap club of Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon

Well, I feel the same too but not exactly because I invest in a Nasdaq100 Index ETF via my PEA account from Boursdirect.

Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) provide a good diversification and lower the risks. Perfect choice for people who have regular jobs like myself and can’t track the market everyday.

A French tax resident doesn’t have access to the top NASDAQ100 ETF like QQQ, etc.

But there are few alternatives such as investing in ETFs via a tax-friendly PEA account.

A few suggestions to open your PEA account:

  1. French Banks such as,
    • Boursorama
    • BNP Paribas or Hello Bank
    • Credit Agricole
    • Societe Générale, etc.
  2. Brokers such as,

I chose BourseDirect based on detailed comparisons 3 years ago and it is still my personal recommendation for opening a PEA account.

Acronyms:

I will cover CTO (brokerage accounts) in a separate post.

  1. If we open a PEA account, do we need to declare it in Tax filings? If yes then in which section? Maybe you already have a post on this topic, but I am not able to find it.
    Please advise.
