When i was in Toulouse, I came across something called ‘Residence Habitat Jeunes’. It provides temporary accommodation for young people (aged 16-30) like students, interns, apprentices, young workers, unemployed, job seekers, etc. Duration usually ranges from a few months to 2 years. Some even allow 3 years of stay.
I thought there will be something similar across France. So, I searched multiple community groups but I couldn’t find any posts or chats about it. Fortunately, an online google search led me to similar residences in major cities of France. These residences are better than most other options (except CROUS University residences). Also, people can avoid all the scams in finding an accommodation.
Most of these residences are eligible for the french housing subsidy from CAF, known as APL. They are also cheaper.I wish someone told me about these residences when i was a student.
