A summary of the various savings accounts offered by Banks in France. Some are tax-free, while others are taxed 30 % flat tax or according to your income tax bracket. The interest rates are regularly updated based on inflation.
Since 1st July 2024, a new tax-free savings product called the “Plan épargne avenir climat (PEAC)” is available for people under 21 years old in France. For more details, PEAC: A new alternative for Livret A or Livret Jeune or Assurance Vie or CTO?
For 2025, the Bank of France has forecasted an average inflation rate of 1.5%. This means the real return (adjusted for inflation) will be the following until the next rate revision.
- Livret A & LDDS = 0.9% net (2.4% – 1.5%)
- LEP = 2% net (3.5% – 1.5%)
- PEL & CEL = -0.225% net (1.225% -1.5%).

4. Livret de développement durable et solidaire (LDDS)

5. Plan épargne logement (PEL)
