Starting 10th July 2024, applications for renewal of 10 years resident cards across France must be submitted online via the ANEF portal. You no longer have to visit the prefecture to submit your application or send it by post.

Types of Resident Cards in France
The following 10 year resident cards are concerned by this new process.

If you have a carte de résident / carte de résident longue durée UE / certificat de résidence algérien de 10 ans, you can submit your renewal application online on the ANEF site within three months of its expiry date.
- Prepare the supporting documents listed here. If you are Algerian, please consult the following list of supporting documents.
- You can then submit your renewal application online using ANEF.
- Log in to your account, complete the application, and follow its progress.
- After your application is processed (the time is 2 to 6 months on average), you will receive a notification or a message inviting you to make an appointment.
- On the day of the appointment, please present yourself with your passport, proof of residence less than 6 months old, 2 photos of identity, and all the documents requested (original + copy). For more details, Prefecture Appointments for French Resident Permits.
