The Indian community in France is diverse and active, with people from various parts of India and French overseas territories. The community includes expatriates, students, professionals, business people, and long-term residents. Various social media forums on Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc. across France help the diaspora to communicate with each other.
Indian Forums in France (based in Paris)
The following social media forums are mostly based in Paris and cover the Indian community living across France.
Forums for the entire Indian community: I have selected the 3 forums. There are so many others and you can find them online by searching Indians in France, Indians in Paris, etc. Multiple groups have similar names.
- Indian Community in France: Facebook and WhatsApp.
- Indian Students Group – Bachelors, Masters, and PhD: Telegram. (WhatsApp was avoided to mask the mobile numbers of students).
- India – France: Savings, Investments & Taxes – Discussions: Telegram. (WhatsApp was avoided, so members could ask their personal questions anonymously).
Forums run by Indian Associations: Most of the associations have their own WhatsApp groups too. Often, this requires completing a Google form and then the team adds you to the group. In alphabetical order,
- GIO France Association: Facebook Page.
- GOPIO France Metropole Association: Facebook Page.
- Gujarati Community: Facebook Page: IGCA Paris Association.
- InFra – India France Association: Facebook Page.
- Kannada Community: Facebook: France Kannada Balaga Association and WhatsApp.
- Malayalee Community: Facebook: Sarva Malayali France (SAMA) Association.
- Marathi Community: Facebook Page: Maharashtra Mandal France (MMF) Association.
- Tamil Community: Facebook and WhatsApp. There are so many Tamil associations spread across France.
- Telugu Community: 2 associations.

Various Indian community social media forums present in cities outside Paris are listed below. Many associations have members-only WhatsApp groups.

For the moment, I have added Facebook groups with 1k+ members, so the list doesn’t become very long.

Can anyone help me find an accommodation in Paris (around Pasteur Institute) please? I am visiting Pasteur as a Guest Scientist from Delhi, and am on a look out for a place to stay from the 9th of October to 5th of November, 2025. I have applied to various places like the India house and also through the CUIP portal, but so far nothing has worked out for this period.

few weeks ago i concerned a consultancy for going to france. They told that
1) first u will pay 14,000 rupees for visa then will prepare for require documents like IT doc,asset doc,bank statement etc.. If you will prepare to do this thing u can make it. otherwise we will arrange the third party to do this thing. So Likewise you will pay for this stuff which amount will be 23,000 to 25,000 rupess.
2)then we will arrange the visa approval.sometimes it will reject or it will accept. It may depends on their decision.
3) They told,maximum it’ll be approved like 90% but 10 % we can’t be assured. if it be approved then we ask our clients in France for job vacancies related on your resume. before that we update your resume. then list of jobs show at you. you will choose it and we will arrange the zoom interview with the respective person. It’s look like formal interview. you will get the offer within 2 – 3 days. then you will go to France before one week of joining date of your job.
4) actually you will get by the agent for job with tourist. before joining date that agent will go to the France court and cancel your tourist visa and then they ask with the court that, ” i get the people from india for work. First 3 months i will check their performance and other stuff. if everything will be okay then i will sponsore work visa. then that 3 months only we work with under that agent.
5) And also in india the agent will sent the agreement for confirmation to what kind of job is this? what’s the salary? like that in the agreement. consultancy will give the original copy of the agreement to us. and also we don’t get that document to airport. Because we will go tourist visa. in immigration they will check our WhatsApp chats, emails etc… if they will find out the agreement or offer letter or other things then immediately they will revoke our tourist visa.
6) and also they told that in india you should pay the amount within 50,000 and then you will go to france you will pay your 3rd month salary to us if you get 2lakhs u will pay full of that . eventually you will pay bit by bit in every month.
Is this all possible to do it? can you please someone clear it?
