FAQ – Can a non-european student have a micro-entrepreneur status along with student visa?

Unfortunately, a non-european student on student visa is not allowed to be a micro-entrepreneur in France.

It is allowed only for the students from France, other european countries, Switzerland, Monaco and Andorra.

So, Indian students cannot be freelancers, when they are on student visas. They are only entitled to be a part-time salaried employee.

When students change their student status to job-seekers, they can do freelancing too. This is possible based on the Autorisation provisoire de séjour (APS) given to Indians or Carte de séjour – Recherche d’emploi/création d’entreprise for other nationalities.
