    Hello Prashant,

    Hope you’re doing well.

I had a quick question — my wife is applying for a Passeport Talent – Famille visa. She’s currently employed and has mentioned her present company in the application form, with 31 December 2025 as her planned arrival date in France. She plans to resign only after the visa is approved.

Would that be fine, or should she ideally be in her notice period (or have left the company) by the time of her appointment, mentioning it in the cover letter?

Thanks a lot for your guidance!

    1. Hello Ajayanand,
The Talent Famille visa hardly takes 2-3 weeks and its a very easy process. So, no point in stressing too much about it. As its a dependent visa, her own employment history is just an additional point because the host (you) will be responsible for everything including accomodation, financal resourses, etc.

If I’m inviting my spouse on a Talent Famille visa, here is what we would do together.
      1. Fix a travel date, book the one-way ticket, and work backwards.
      2. Apply for the visa atleast a month before the travel date.
      3. Resign little earlier, take a few weeks break, visit family/relatives, etc before travelling to live in a completely different country.
      4. Prepare for the trip, collect the visa & travel.
There is a dedicated article for this topic https://prasanthragupathy.com/2024/06/vfs-dependent-visa-for-spouse-and-children-of-passport-talent-visa-holders/ Please check the article and its comments before adding any additional questions.

  2. Good Evening.

I have been offered an opportunity to conduct research in a foreign laboratory for a period of 6 months. Due to certain delays, the approval only came around last week. Is it possible to apply for an expedited Visa as the time period of this visit is supposed to start next month ?

    Thank you.

    1. Hello Thomas,
Unfortunately, you haven’t provided the relevant details for me to understand your situation. Sorry, it’s difficult to answer vague questions. Please contact the relevant country’s Embassy or Consulate.

      Cheers,
      Prasanth
