This article addresses the different types of work and resident permits available to International students after their graduation in France. The first version of this article was written by Sanjay Kamath in October 2020. This current version goes further with the latest updates including 2023 regulations.
There are different types of employment contract in France, depending on their duration, the employer’s activity or the nature of the work entrusted to the employee. The written contract specifies the salary, qualifications, working hours and, more focussing on the employee’s duties. It also explains a number of obligations for both employee and employer.
May 2023 marks the completion of my 5th year in the French automotive industry. I started working after my masters from Ecole centrale de Nantes.
In 2020, the average monthly French salary for a full-time job in the private sector was €2,520 net of charges and social contributions. It was €2,380 in public sector.
